CHRIS BULMER
Chris Bulmer graduated from Teesside Polytechnic in 1978 with a B.A. Honours Degree in Art and Design. He then worked for eight years as a commercial interior designer for studios in
Cheshire,
London and
Dubai, before returning to his roots in the North East to establish a small picture framing business. In April 1996, he gave up framing pictures to concentrate on painting full-time from his home. He now sells his own work through galleries around the North Yorkshire Moors.
His main subject of interest is vernacular architecture- recording in picture cottages; barns and details of country life. The majority of his commissions are drawings and paintings of client’s houses. As well as painting watercolours, he also produces finely detailed etchings and wood-engravings.
Chris lives in the North East of England but longs to live somewhere in the
Esk
Valley- a special place that holds many happy memories.
