DONALD AYRES

Donald Ayres is one of Britain’s best known painters of landscape and country pursuits and his work has been on the covers of such magazines as Field, Shooting Times and Horse and Hound. His paintings have been reproduced as Fine Art Prints by top publishers and have been exhibited at many major galleries in Britain as well as Europe and America. Sales of Donald’s paintings are world-wide.

He began painting professionally in 1965. During the seventies Donald taught at the Dyfed College of Art on what was then the only Wild Life Illustration course in Britain.

Dissatisfied with the style of teaching in the Art colleges, he turned to the techniques of the old masters for his inspiration.

Living in different parts of Britain has helped Donald extend his portfolio which now includes traditional landscape, harbour and marine scenes, etc. His reputation rests on the quality of his oils, acrylics and  watercolours and on over 35 years professional experience.

Donald is an artist member of the prestigious Fine Art Trade Guild.
