MIKE NANCE

Mike Nance has been a professional artist since the mid-1970’s.

He was at school in Devon and at the Naval School in Anglesey before completing his service in the Marines. He joined the Merchant Service but, after leaving the sea, drifted through a succession of jobs during which time painting was a hobby.

Paintings of otters, squirrels, badgers, foxes and other wildlife are amongst Mike’s subjects, as are Woodland and Moorland scenes. His work has been published as popular prints and has sold throughout the U.K. and abroad.

He has recently had outstanding success with prints of his paintings based on television programmes such as ‘ Coronation Street’ and ‘Last of the Summer Wine’.

Mike is a compulsive painter. Starting early in the morning he works throughout the day, usually seven days a week. His own comment is:-

‘I am very lucky that what was a pleasant hobby has become a greatly enjoyable profession’.
